About Construction Fleet Journal

A reader's guide to who we are, what we cover and how our pages are produced.

Construction Fleet Journal, abbreviated CFJ, is an online publication about the used construction equipment market in the United States. We write for the people who buy, run and maintain heavy machinery: contractors, fleet managers, equipment buyers and the business owners who sign for the purchase.

What we cover

Our coverage centers on the equipment itself and on the dealers who sell it. Dealer spotlights describe what a dealer publishes online: inventory categories, makes and models, advertised specifications, hours and asking prices. Market guides explain how each class of machine is sized, used and valued. Buyer guidance sets out the questions to settle before money changes hands.

Our first dealer spotlight covers Florida Heavy Equipment Sales LLC in Perry, Florida.

How our pages are produced

Dealer coverage is built from the dealer's own published materials, read on a stated date and cited by link. We separate what a dealer says about itself from what we could observe directly, and we tell readers which is which. We do not publish customer testimonials, star ratings, inspection results or sales figures that we have not verified, and we do not invent them.

Construction Fleet Journal is not paid by or affiliated with the businesses it covers. Our editorial policy describes these standards in full.

What we are not

Construction Fleet Journal is not an equipment dealer, broker or auction house. We do not sell machinery, take deposits or arrange financing. Prices, hours and availability quoted in our coverage reflect the dealer listings on the date stated and will change; buyers should confirm every figure directly with the seller before relying on it.

Trademarks

Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Kubota, Bobcat, JCB, JLG, SkyTrak, New Holland, Case IH and other manufacturer names that appear on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to identify the equipment under discussion. Construction Fleet Journal is not affiliated with or endorsed by any manufacturer.
